There was a thread on this long ago, but I couldn't find it.

Volumes 1 and 2 are out now.

They did fix some major problems that plagued the previous versions, but there are still quite a few mistakes, so their claim of it being "corrected" is not 100% accurate. For example, Lament is a mess change-wise.

It's too bad they had to leave some classic tunes out, assumedly because of copyright issues.

Still, it's great collection of tunes and they did keep the look similar to the old one.

Whats's the verdict? "Handy resource" or "corporate oppor-TUNE-ism"?

I can't call it opportunism - the illegal ones have been around so long it's amazing it took so much time before the legit one happened. It's a beat-the-boots situation and (ideally) the composers are now getting some money.

Have you checked them out yet, Mike? I still find a lot of mistakes, although not nearly as many as before.

Actually, I've never even seen a copy. It's disappointing that there are still errors. I'll try to get a look soon.

even more disappointing that tunes are missing, such as days of wine and roses.

And Syeeda's Song Flute. My band was looking for that tune, and couldn't find it in the new one.
