DukeCity
I just saw an ad for the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Festival. The headliners are: Loggins and Messina Widespread Panic Willie Nelson John Fogerty Joan Osborne Maxi Priest oh, and at 2pm, opening for J. Osborne and Loggins and Messina is some trumpet guy named Terrence something. Sounds like a swingin' festival, no? --Glenn
Soul Stream
Widespread Panic and Loggins & Messina....ummm....how much crossover audience do those two bands share? Oh yeah, "Jazz Festival" is a pretty ridiculous concept these days.
robviti
to be fair, the festival's website proclaims: "Five full days of open air music featuring rock, funk, blues, world, soul, R&B, reggae & more daily." makes you wonder why they include the word "jazz" in their title. it sure ain't for sales purposes!
