sonnyhill Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 I was listening to WKCR (in New York) this week and selections from Paul Bley's album "Turns" was played. The album features John Gilmore on tenor. It sounded really nice. Was this album ever issued on cd? If not, is it readily available on vinyl (If so, this would be a good excuse to finally make the leap into vinyl). Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 There are two albums from the same sessions with some overlap. One is on IAI called Turning Point; one on Savoy called Turns. The IAI is on CD, I believe, but to get all the material from the session, you need Turns, which has not been on CD. Or I believe you could get another Savoy LP-only issue, New Music: Second Waves (SJL 2235) to get the missing three tracks. My copy of Turns cost $3.99 - it's not that uncommon. Mike Quote
