Guest ariceffron Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 hi 'tis aric here i just wanted to tell you all, to whoever is interested, but just so you know, i met one of my favoroite organ players steve winwood and since it was probably the only oppurtunity to stand face to face w/ him, i had like 50 things i wanted to ask him. i mean he is one of my very favorite musicans. so i ask him what jazz organists he likes best etc. and he said of newer people he likes Joey D but for walking bass lines he likes Dr. Lonnie. I said big john patton and steve winwood was like oh hell yeah. he didnt literally say oh hell yeah but that was expressed to me. YEah and the phattest aspect to this is steve was even down with the best of the best of the best, of course im referring to grand master babyface. Steve totally got excited when i mentioned the babyface, but he couldnt remember what he was on. he was trying to think of it, and was thinking, and i said he made some with grant green and also lou donaldson and right the split second i said that stevie was all : "LOU DONALDSON". so the reason i typed all this out is so you jazz conservatives out there can know just how legit traffic are in the world of jazz-rock. i bought a secret suit from a pearly queen- she could drink more wine than ive ever seen. The concert was amazing. it was like widespread panic times a million Quote
