EKE BBB Posted December 24, 2005 Author Report Posted December 24, 2005 I´m looking for a reasonably priced copy of Laurie Wright´s "Fats In Fact". Never saw a used copy for less than $130.00 Quote
AllenLowe Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Alyn Shipton's book is very good as well - Quote
EKE BBB Posted December 27, 2005 Author Report Posted December 27, 2005 Alyn Shipton's book is very good as well - Yes, I have it, and it´s a very interesting reading. Still haven´t got Maurice Waller´s or Ed Kirkeby´s books on Fats, though. BTW, Shipton is only second to John Chilton in the "ammount of biographies written" category! Nothing can compare to Coleman Hawkins / Henry Red Allen / Roy Eldridge / Billie Holiday / Bob Crosby / Louis Jordan / Sidney Bechet / Louis Armstrong / any more??? !!!! Quote
AllenLowe Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Kirkby's book is very good too - Maurice Waller's just ok, as I recall - Quote
