Chet Baker Kohn concert

I ordered the CB Koln Concert from Amazon and am enjoying it.

It came with an informative booklet and is on the RLR label.

I have been hesitant to order from CD Universe as I am not familiar with them.

Usually order from Worlds Records or Amazon.

With regards to the Spanish Blue Notes, I ordered True Blue from Amazon and received

a CD issued by Time Life from Spain with a very BLUE cover. Also ordered by RVG and a Toshiba

24 bit something or other. The RVG has two bonus tracks.

My introduction to Chet Baker came from Ms Sally White, owner of Sally's Place in Westport, Ct.

Sally introduced me to Mosaic, June Christy, Chris Connor, Lee Wiley and Jeri Southern when I came into

her shop to buy Kay Kyser or Glenn Miller.

Prior to that, I only listened to mickey mouse bands or The BeBop Boys.

Sure got a good introduction to jazz from this fine lady as she played CDs for me and went through

the bins.

I did pick up the Miles Cellar Door Sessions @ Tower and one comp CD would have sufficed.

Am trying to enjoy it, but IMO it's a lot of noise.

I have received so much valuable info regarding jazz from reading the posts on this board..and appreciate

the Coltrane, Monk, and the 1947 bop concert which were recently reissued.

Many thanks to Jazzbo for his knowledge of reissues and where to find good stuff!

Well - I took a "shot" & ordered it.

Let us know how it is. I'm really curious about this.

78+ minutes.

Nice packaging & notes.

Sound quality variable. Acceptable unless you require "audiophile" quality.

Music very nice, not earth shattering.

I got it mainly because of the addition to Twardzik's discography & was not disappointed in that regard.

In addition it was just $11.99 at Dusty Groove.

Hope that helps.

I listened a 2nd time & liked it better than I did the 1st time through.
