Is there a reason my CD-ROM drive won't read

I thought the drive was just down and needed to be replaced. Then I put a regular data CD into it and it worked just fine; installed the program I needed and everything.

Now I've just put in a music CD, and not only does it not play, but when I try to double-click the drive letter, it doesn't show anything in the drive!

Is it a driver issue?

(BTW, I'm running a Dell running XP Pro. I know, I know.....)
