Adam
Is anyone here familiar with this site? http://www.jazzword.com/nova/start.pl It seems like a good resource. But there is no information on there about how to contact them. Anyone know? From their About Us: Jazzword is devoted to the musical sounds that have developed during the past half-century or so, which are variously labeled avant-garde, free bop, energy music, the New Thing, contemporary improvised sounds, Euro-improv among other names. While not wedded to a hard and fast definition, or a particular time line, every item on this Web site will have some connection with the North American music derived from the African-American Diaspora and first called jazz. Jazzword has been created to expose this unique music to the large number of people who use the World Wide Web. Small pockets of appreciation for these sounds exist throughout the globe. Although we make it our business to keep committed followers up to date, Jazzword also hopes that adventurous neophytes will visit it often as well. Jazzword's home page provides links -- updated daily -- to important, unique and interesting stories on other sites that may or may not be primarily concerned with music. The Top Sites page surveys the main sources for regular coverage of this sort of music on the Web. This art is disseminated in the main through recorded sound. Our review section offers a compendium of veteran critic Ken Waxman's CD reviews as well as his occasional book and/or live concert review. Gallery O displays Susan O'Connor's black and white performance photographs, which provide an exclusive pictorial record of artists in the midst of creation. The Jazzword Web site infrastructure is maintained by David Groskind through the facilities of myredeye.com. Nate Dorward
It's Ken Waxman's site, reprinting reviews he's done for various sites & mags, plus running jazz-related headlines from other web sources. Email's at the bottom of this page: http://www.onefinalnote.com/staff/
