Hi Allan,

Just for you :P , a video of Jimmy Ponder "live" :

Jimmy Ponder - "Autumn Leaves"

+ an interview : Jimmy Ponder - ITV March, 1995 issue of the newsletter of the Cincinnati Jazz Guitar Society

Best

Thank you Steven - nice interview.

I don't understand the video thing; the screen says that the video's playing, but I can't see it. Do you have to be a member before you can see it?

If the video is loaded correctly, the only thing I think about is : you need Macromedia Flash Player 8.

It is not necessary to register.

Yes, Happy Birthday Jimmy. Listening to his "What's New" CD with Gene Ludwig right now. GREAT recording.

Of course, I have many classic albums with Jimmy Ponder. My favs being Patton's "That Certain Feeling", Lou Donaldson's "Mr. Sing A Ling" and Stanley Turrentine's "Common Touch."

just listened to sonny phillips "my black flower" the other day.

ponder adds a lot.

am thinking of checking out his later muse stuff. i found a place with a few of them on CD.

i really like ponder's version of "white room" for what it is. good clavinet on that one.

I think the Muse albums are generally more interesting than the HighNotes - though "What's new" is as good as anything he's done before. I like the two with John Patton - "Mean streets - no bridges", and "Jump", "To reach a dream" and "Soul eyes" best. But grab what you can!
