Soulstation1 Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 anyone use one of these products? i'm gonna use it mainly as a cd player it seems like just a cd player is more expensive than a dvd player with music playing features i can buy one for around $80 seems like a cheap way to get into dvd-ing stuff from the TV http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099395252109 Quote
Soulstation1 Posted July 3, 2006 Author Report Posted July 3, 2006 bought a new cd / dvd player and now my receiver is dead..... it's about 18 years old.... back to the boom box Quote
andybleaden Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 hold yer horses Is it fixable....old stuff like receivers are usually easy to work on and it depends what has happened to it. Did a fuse blow inside? Sometimes these are the main problem (not inside the plug ) in the machine itself and if it is this will cost ...pennies to fix Blew mine 6 years ago when setting it up after a move....heard a noise and a wire in a glass tube had split...got some of the same wire for less than a $ and fixed it easy.... give it a go before this gets moved to the audio forum!
