ghost of miles Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 This is listed by Alan as an upcoming 2003 release, dual-layer SACD from Audio Fidelity. I'm quite a Dorham fan AND I've developed this weird fetish lately for late-1950s, early-1960s "jazz-goes-musical" albums (Billy Taylor's MY FAIR LADY, etc.). Has anybody heard or seen a specific date for this hitting the street? Quote
DrJ Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Nope, but it's a good one - my favorite of Dorham's two leader dates for Time. Quote
ghost of miles Posted August 4, 2003 Author Report Posted August 4, 2003 The line-up sure looks tasty: Jimmy Heath on tenor, pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Jimmy Garrison and drummer Art Taylor. Quote
Jim R Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 One of my favorite Dorham albums on any label. Ghost, I've had that "weird fetish" for years! B) Recapturing my childhood, you know. I hope you have the Wilbur Harden/Tommy Flanagan version of "The King & I" on Savoy. Quote

No, I don't, Jim (just have the material with Coltrane), but I'll add it to the wish-list. Quote
