Dan Gould Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Some of you guys in the music business can evaluate this better than I. Is this good news or further dilution of the brand? Blue Note news release You didn't ask me but I don't think this carries any importance. Looks like an internal restructuring that happens to use the "Blue Note" name because of its cachet. Now if they shuffled off some of the marginal to non-jazz acts to a new label Lifestyle Music For Lifestyle Folks, that would be good news. Quote
Dave James Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 (edited) Agreed. As long as there isn't any room for cross pollenization, i.e. Lee Morgan doesn't have to split the rent with Norah Jones, everything will be fine. Up over and out. Edited July 19, 2006 by Dave James Quote
