Anyone else into playing Flight Simulator 2002/04 software?

Just trying out Just Flight's C-130 Hercules simulation and I must admit, I'm impressed. These things have come a long way in the last few years. For anyone who knows the Herc you can even mess around with the overhead instrument panels and do a wee spot of in-flight refuelling.

I also have Concorde Professional 'Limited Edition' on order so there's a risk I might be diverted indefinitely from jazz and the Org Board...

Any recommendations for other great Flight Sim applications?

I had that problem with Richard Burns' Rally and GT4 not so long ago......

I daren't even try any new stuff.

The Herc simulator is proving to be even more addictive than the Concord sale.

Just flown from RAF Lyneham over to Ireland then got lost somewhere over the Irish Sea. Tried out a few engine start routines en-route somewhere over the Lake District !

I have tried a few of these and they are great fun as they eat up one's time. My problem is that I have yet to make a safe landing--takeoffs are relatively easy, even for me. I use a Mac and I think my favorite simulater was called X-plane (or something like that).

Give it a shot ! Flight Simulator 2004 is the place to start (you get quite a few aircraft to play around with, from Wright Flyer to 747-400 ). They even include a starter flying course which will get you to 'solo'. Or alternatively wait 'till Thanksgiving to pick up 'Flight Sim X' with what looks to be spectacular new graphics and easier 'usability' (apparently).
