EKE BBB Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 This recently released 2 CD compilation on the ASV/Living Era label is highly recommended as an approach to the music of the orchestra in the 30s (a period very poorly covered on CD so far). Sound is very good (very "vivid", with the separation of the instruments very clear, and the remaining surface noise doesn't bother me at all) and the selection is great... though you can't go wrong with 30s EKE. brownie Posted November 29, 2006 Report Posted November 29, 2006 If the sound is really better than the CBS France vinyls or Classics CDs, I'll be looking for that one. Love the Ellingtonia from that period! Quote
