scottb
Although there are many things to thank you for (this board, the Christmas tunes, a couple of great Organissimo discs to name a few) I want to thank you for your recommendations for my "home studio" It was a long time ago but you responded to my question and recommended a Shure SM57 mic and PreSonus TubePre pre amp to record my guitar onto my computer. I got these for Christmas from my folks. I've only just started messing around with this stuff but I'm getting much better sound than recording direct through my ART SGX LT processor. I couldn't have done any better for $200!
scottb
By the way, I also got a FREE 120gig external hard drive from Musicians Friend with the PreSonus puchase.
Jim Alfredson
Sweet! If you need any help, let me know. What are you using for a DAW?
scottb
uh... what's a DAW? Seriously...
7/4
uh... what's a DAW? Seriously... Digital Analog Workstation. A computer for example.
Jim Alfredson
Sorry. As 7/4 stated, DAW = Digital Audio Workstation. I'm assuming you're recording to your computer? Just wondering what program you're using.
.:.impossible
Presonus comes with Cubase LE. I guess I owe some thanks as well! I ended up with a pair of Marshall MXL 903s, Firebox, and Bluetube. I'm using Ableton Live.
Jim Alfredson
The Firebox and Firepod come with Cubase LE, but I don't think the TubePre does. Steinberg should really offer Cubase LE as a free download to anyone, regardless of gear. It has no copy protection anyway. It could be their version of ProTools Free (which was a great idea). scottb
Sorry. As 7/4 stated, DAW = Digital Audio Workstation. I'm assuming you're recording to your computer? Just wondering what program you're using. That was one of the possible abbreviations I came up with but I wasn't sure. I previously have used Voyetra'a Digital Orchestrator Plus but it doesn't work with newer versions of Windows. Since I was familiar with that program and pretty happy with it when I was using it, I got Record Producer Deluxe which is the current incarnation of the old Digital Orchestrator series. My computer is fitted with a Soundblaster Audiology 2 sound card. Edited January 13, 2007 by scottb
