This special will comprise original chronological and/or thematic articles on Ellington´s music, a selected and comented CD discography, translations into Spanish of previously published articles and interviews, an Ellington Gallery and a few more miscellaneous items. The november issue includes an introduction to this project and the translations of: -the first part of the EKE entry in Donald Clarke´s "Encyclopaedia of Popular Music" -an interview with Duke Ellington from 1958 -an article by the late Eddie Lambert on Duke´s "Diminuendo and Crescendo in Blue", including a discographical addendum we´ve compiled with all the recorded versions of DaCiB released on CD Many more items will come in December 2006 and through 2007. Tomajazz - Index of the Ellington Special New features include Spanish translations for: -the second part of the Ellington biography by Donald Clarke. -composer/arranger/bandleader David Berger's article "Notes On Playing Ellington". -the Ellington chapter in Baron Timme Ronsenkrantz' s autobiography, as recently translated into English by Fradley Garner -in fact he is still looking for a publisher- from the original Danish edition published on 1964. Please take a look at the Ellington illustrations by our resident artist, Diego Ortega Alonso.
