Why did Berigan post this? What's it got to do with Muslims or France?

My favorite Churchill comeback (and it's likely in the link Jon posted; I haven't looked yet) is when, at a dinner party, a lady scolded an obviously besotted Winston for being drunk. He replied: "I may be drunk, madam, but you're ugly. And I'll be sober in the morning."
