Ron S Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Jonah Jones At The Embers Trumpeter Jonah Jones found a perfect sound of muted trumpet with piano, bass and drums that produced a slew of hit albums during the late 1950s. The concept was to present the subtle yet jumping small group jazz that Jones featured which was a smash at The Embers club in New York. "At The Embers" was one of the best of those albums which was originally issued on the rare Groove label in 1956 but found new life as a re-issue in 1959 on RCA Victor. George Wein And His All Stars - George Wein Is Alive And Well In Mexico Stemming from three different venues in Mexico and captured live in 1967,leader George Wein and a group that featured Ruby Braff, Bud Freeman and outstanding clarinet from Pee Wee Russell which would be the last prime example of Pee Wee before his health began to fail. The bonus tracks are magnificent additions to the original album. http://www.mosaicrecords.com/genres.asp?dept=50 Quote

EKE BBB Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 So far I like the couple of George Wein discs I have, and I am a Pee Wee Russell completist, so... there goes my money! Quote
