Peter Friedman Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 FREDDIE REDD Tommy Potter, the bass player, whose 1956 album Hard Funk recently was reissued, also had the great be-bop pianoplayer Freddie Redd in his band; during their European tour in 1956 both men made recordings: Freddie Redd made the lp Freddie Redd in Sweden, now available on a beautiful CD reissue by Lonehill Jazz A great recording!! Keep swinging Durium A few days ago I received both the Tommy Potter and the Freddie Redd CDs in the mail. Have played them both and they are very good. I prefer this early Freddie Redd Trio recording to his trio sessions on Futura, Interplay, Riverside, and Triloka. Quote
