Adam Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 I got that one too. Wacky isn't it, to think how many people might have just one credit card and might fall for it? Quote
Shrdlu Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 A friend in Melbourne, Australia just emailed me about a virus scam in which you get a message supposedly from Microsoft (complete with official-looking logos) offering a patch to protect you from a virus or worm. The message includes an exe thing that you are supposed to click on. The thing is itself a virus or worm. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Word to the wise: Microsoft NEVER attaches an update in an email. They always tell you to go to Windows Update to obtain the patch/update/file etc. I get tons of junk emails with files attached claiming to be Windows patches. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted September 23, 2003 Report Posted September 23, 2003 Uh.... you mean, I shouldn't have sent them my card number. Uh... Uh.... Quote
