paul secor Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 (edited) Texas music legend - even though he wasn't a recording artist. He produced hit records by Barbara Lynn, The Sir Douglas Quintet, Freddie Fender, Joe Barry, Roy Head, Rod Bernard, & B.J. Thomas; and produced non-hit records by Johnny Winter, Jimmy Donley, Clifton Chenier, & many others. Also believe that he did time - perhaps is still doing time - for sex with underage girls. Here's an interesting article: http://www.laventure.net/tourist/sdq_meaux.htm I'll bet that some of our Texas members have some good Huey Meaux stories. If they do, I hope they'll share them. edit - got my Barbaras mixed up - Lynn, not George Edited June 6, 2008 by paul secor Quote
Dave Garrett Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 Wasted Days, Wasted Lives (Part 1) Wasted Days, Wasted Lives (Part 2) Meaux's probation is revoked Quote
paul secor Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 Looks like he's a sleazier character than I had imagined. Thinking about deleting the topic, but perhaps it's better for things to be out there. I'll leave it up to the moderators. Quote
Dan Gould Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 No time to read the links right now but I assume this would be the guy responsible for the "Lowell Fulson Crazy Cajun recordings"? Anyone familiar with them? I've exhausted the "classic" Fulson from pre-Chess to Chess to Bihari labels and the "living legend" comeback albums, so I've been curious about these. Quote
