Hey all,

Wanted to reply to the thread on NPR Music and WBGO broadcasting live from the Village Vanguard, without it getting buried. Basically, we're broadcasting great shows once a month from the Vanguard, both live over the air and simulcast live online. But nobody ever posted a link where you can hear the full archive of finished shows, and stream the shows live as they happen over the internet! Here's the link to the NPR Music series:

Here's the original thread: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=44052

Here's that full calendar again too:

Wed. May 21st - Al Foster Quartet: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...toryId=90609926

Wed. June 11th – Guillermo Klein Y Los Guachos: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...toryId=91020960

Wed. June 18th – Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...toryId=91567367

Tues. July 1st – Uri Caine Trio

Wed. August 27th – Kenny Barron Quintet

Wed. September 3rd – Paul Motian/Bill Frisell/Joe Lovano

Wed. October 8th – Bill Charlap Trio

Wed. November 19th – Ravi Coltrane Quartet

Wed. December 17th – Cedar Walton Quartet

And of course, you can hear it over the air in the New York/New Jersey area on WBGO.

Hope you can tune into great, free music!

Patrick

Do you know who the fourth member of the Cedar Walton group will be? I'd guess Vincent Herring, since he seemed to mostly replace Ralph Moore in that spot, but its been a while since I've seen who Cedar is gigging with.

Good question ... I don't know myself at the moment, but we'll post it whenever available.

Couldn't get through the first tune of the Lovano/Motian/Bill show.... Never heard that group, sounded like 3 guys, one playing like vanilla Ayler, one like Spade Cooley's steel player and one like Miles-era Tony Williams.... All great musicians I LOVE doing their own thing, but together I'm not a fan, judging from that first tune. Looking forward to the Blade.
