Pixidust2003 Posted June 28, 2008 Report Posted June 28, 2008 I have a copy of Mobley's Message on vinyl and was told recently that it may be quite rare. So far, Ive drawn a blank trying to research it so wondered if anyone here could shed any light? The cover has a black telegraph pole and wires painted on top of a light blue background & the disc was released on the Esquire label ref: 32-029 (PRLP 7061 A). Thanks in advance of any advice given. Yes, 'Mobley's Message' on Esquire vinyl is quite a rare one. Issued in the late 50s in very limited quantity by London based Esquire Records, who had the UK license to Prestige issues at the time. There should be 'RVG' in the runout and the sound quality will be excellent. These issues usually sound far superior to the Prestige/New Jazz issues of the time. I've got a good number of them but - alas - no 'Mobley's Message'. Quote
