.:.impossible Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 This composition is credited to Pike, but it sounds so familiar... is it because I have listened to this record so much that I think it is another tune? Or did this become a "standard"? Quote
.:.impossible Posted July 11, 2008 Author Report Posted July 11, 2008 It is something totally obvious... maybe from Kind of Blue? I can't believe I don't own a copy of Kind of Blue... where did they go? Quote
jazzbo Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 I'm going from memory because I haven't found my copy, but I believe the chord changes are So What/Impressions changes. Quote
JohnS Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 (edited) 'Impressions', plus a little elaboration. Quote from the sleeve note ' a swinging modal adventure, the tilte an obvious answer to Miles Davis' 'So What'. Nice to hear this again. Edited July 12, 2008 by JohnS Quote
.:.impossible Posted July 12, 2008 Author Report Posted July 12, 2008 Yeah, I figured it out after listening to the side again. For some reason, I was drawing a total blank. I should have gone to the sleeve notes... I really like this record. I bought it a few months ago and have listened to it often. His vocalizations don't bother me as much as they probably bother others. I'm curious about his MPS stuff. Quote
