Rooster_Ties Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 (edited) I'm not into a lot of these kinds of music(s) -- nor do I own any of them -- but I still thought this was kinda cool. With usually between 5 and 10 different examples (and sound clips) per sub-genre (and there are dozens and dozens of sub-genres). http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/ Click on the various categories on the left side of the page, and then a map of the sub-categories will appear. Glad you posted this. As my thread on house said, I've had a lot of pleasure listening to various forms of electronic music in the last year or so. It has been a welcome addition (not a replacement!) to the other types of music I like. At its best, it is very absorbing, and it can really swing. My favorite type is electro/house - there isn't a lot of non-electro house around anymore. But there are no sharp dividing lines between the various genres and sub-genres. That site mentions DI FM. That's where you will find Darin Epsilon, who has put out some consistently fine mixes. Have a listen to his sets on his website darinepsilon.com I have played lots of them, and they are fantastic. Also chatted with him on msn, and he's a very nice, humble guy. Quote
