Durium Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 TWOBONES 2007 (feat. DADO MORONI) For me there were two reasons to obtain this album. First reason: on this album two trombone players are playing. I'm really fascinated by this instrument, as played by Adrian Mears , Jay Jay Johnson and Kai Winding or Slide Hampton. The second reason is the presence of Dado Moroni, a "giant" at the piano on several aspects. Groovin' Bones (featuring Dado Moroni) Keep swinging Durium Quote
Peter Friedman Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 I don't know who the trombone players are on this album? But your words about Dado Moroni ring true for me. This man is not at all wellknown, but is one hell of a piano player. His two CDs on the Jazz Connaisseur label are outstanding: THE WAY I AM WITH DUKE IN MIND. Dado's other albums that I very much enjoy are: INSIGHTS - Jazz Focus OUT OF THE NIGHT - Jazz Focus WHAT'S NEW - Splasch Quote
marcello Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Dado is a Baaad Boy! He'll be at Orvieto this winter as part of Joe Locke's group along with Mickey Roker and Bob Cranshaw. He's perfect for this group; swinging, great feel and a big groove. They will be playing a lot of Milt Jackson music along with Joe Locke's. What Durium means is not only is he a great pianist, but he's very tall. Gig guy! He's a very, very nice man too! The musicians love him. Quote
