Sundog Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 (edited) Anybody ever do business with Norton Records? They have a number of Gene Vincent releases on vinyl that look intriguing. Wondering about the quality of the pressings and service in general? P.S. Thanks for the new forum! Edited October 24, 2003 by Sundog Quote
AfricaBrass Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 (edited) I also have been happy with the Norton releases I have purchased. The vinyl has been fine. I love their Link Wray double cd set. I listen to that often. My favorite Norton release is a record I picked up about 9 years ago called: King Uszniewicz & His Uszniewicztones - Doin' the Woo-Hoo Here's a quote from the allmusic review: "From the staggering group vocals and monotonal saxophone bleating of "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" to the tripping-over-its-own-feet downhill momentum of "At The Hop", Doin' The Woo-Hoo displays all the grace and easy charm of a sailor on shore leave hitting the nearest tavern..." The greatest bowling alley band of Polish descent EVER! This is way more entertaining than the Shaggs. Edited October 24, 2003 by AfricaBrass Quote
Sundog Posted October 24, 2003 Author Report Posted October 24, 2003 Thanks for the information. Norton does have an eccentric rooster of artists don't they? Quote
AfricaBrass Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Thanks for the information. Norton does have an eccentric rooster of artists don't they? I've read an interview with the owners of the label and they are just a couple of record lovers like the rest of us (but with more of a penchant for the bizarre ). Quote
