Brandon Burke
I'm putting the finishing touches on a project comparing the structural composition of varying kinds of colored vinyl vs. the standard black. Anyone have suggestions for documentation? Anyone know of places where manufacturers have published their formulae (however basic)? Ideally, this research will lead to discoveries regarding dyes and the problems that they cause (or don't cause, for that matter). Thanks in advance, Brandon
wolff
This may not be much help, but.... Contact Classic Records. They just did a blue vinyl re-issue of Kind of Blue. The folks at the plant they use(name eludes me at moment) probably can help you. Also, post this question here. It's visited by many in the industry. Chuck Nessa
Have you tried getting tech data sheets from resin suppliers, such as Dow and Chevron? A Google search for PVC resins may help.
