Last Friday night I did an Afterglow program about America in the year of 1945 that includes news clips, interviews with historian Jim Madison and some homefront civilians, and music from Bing Crosby, Woody Herman, Thelma Carpenter, Frank Sinatra with Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, and more. I tried to focus somewhat on the ordeals, losses and uncertainties of that year, as well as the more victorious aspects. It's now archived for online holiday listening--hope any who happen to tune in enjoy.
