spinlps Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 I travel to Atlanta at least once or twice a month and hit the local record shops on most trips. While Criminal Records doesn't have a huge Jazz selection, they do carry a fair amount of the fancy LP reissues. What they don't have, however, is any tolerance for Starbucks. Read on... The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Actually, now I come to think of it, the jazz/blues/folk shop in Brighton in the sixties - at which I was a regular, of course - was next door to a coffee bar and the proprietor occasionally used to send the young lady who worked for him out to get tea for us all - including my mate and me. BillF Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Very taken by that name: Criminal Records. Until now my favorites have been Hairy Records (Liverpool) and Reckless Records (Soho, London, now closed). Any other good record store names? Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Sound Advice (Cardiff - deceased) - very good jazz section upstairs, but run by the head sherang of the Welsh Jazz Society, so he was always contemptuous of the records I bought. MG Quote
