is a Hank Mosaic vinyl set impossible to find

are they even really mastered for vinyl, or is it derived from the same tape as the cd?

Why not call Mosaic and ask the mastering question? At the Jazz Record Center this week, there were a lot of great vinyl box sets there at fair prices (e.g. McLean Mosaic, $225, complete Keynote $250). A lot of people including myself are dumping stash and raising emergency cash. I didn't see the Mobley, but the place is flush with product right now, its definitely worth a call.
