THOM KELLING

Thom Kelling, one of those almost forgotten Dutch musicians in the post war period, known for his Latin-American repertoire during the 1950s and his TV-programs in the 1960s like Top of Flop happened to have a jazzy-period: the 1940s in which he played in the Piet Van Dijk Dansorkest with vocalist Rita Reys, Europe's First Lady of Jazz.

Thom Kelling was for me the first artist I heard in a live concert mid 1960s ... After the concert all my friends stood in line to get his autograph ... so did I !! He came to Goes ( in the southwest part of The Netherlands), a small city near by, to give a schoolconcert. I don't remember the concert itself, but I still feel that thrilling excitement getting his autograph ....
