A few days ago I asked you guuys to come up with some questions re Slava Ganelin and/or his trio. Unfortunately, I got little response. I guess it's because Ganelin is not a household name in the States (he's not a household name in Israel as well :( ).

Anyways, Yesterday a memorial concert took place to remember one of Israel's pioneers in Jazz - Roman Kunsman.

Ganelin played there an original number he composed in memory of Kunsman.

BTW - the alarm clock is an integral part of the number. The emcee is not...

cool. Thanks for sharing. We used to have an alarm clock like that. Thank goodness it broke. I really hated that sound. Nice performance, not that I went screaming around the room out of shere excitement. But, nice nonetheless.
