last night, kcr played a cut from a motion-bley duo cd; the selection was actually an eloquent extended motian solo.

i would expect the recording to have a bley solo or two, as well.

is this recording new? i would certainly appreciate any info. there aren't many must haves on my recordings wanted list these days, but this is certainly one.

hey there. maybe you mis-wrote something? the thread title says haden/motian; but your post says motian/bley...

i have an older haden duets album w/ jarrett doing one of the duets, and motian one of the others. it's called Closeness if i remember right...

and then there's the older bley/nhop recording, but no motian on that.

anyway, good luck...

There is a Bley/Motian duo CD on Soul Note, entitled "Notes". It was recorded in Milano in 1987. Here's the track list:

1. Notes 2. Batterie 3. Piano Solo No. 1 4. West 107th St. 5. Just Us 6. No. 3 7. Turns 8. Ballad 9. Excerpt 10. Love Hurts

11. Inside 12. Finale 13. Diane

I think the piece you heard was probably track number 4. Hope this helps...........
