jazzbo Posted December 15, 2010 Report Posted December 15, 2010 I had been in Austin only a few months and my girlfriend had recently arrived from Ohio and things were always interesting. That day I was working in a sign shop and each customer that came in seemed to have to talk about it. I didn't have a really personal reaction as I've never been a big Beatles fan, and even though John was probably my favorite, it didn't really hit home to me HARD. Over time as I've learned more about Lennon during his final decade, I began to realize what a loss this was. And I can understand why this meant MORE to some others. What's hard to believe is that it's been thirty years. When I think back, it doesn't feel like thirty years. In some ways, the time, my whole life in Austin, has gone by so quickly. And yet the time is cram full of events and feelings and . . .stuff. Quote
