thedwork
i'm seeing him on the 30th this month. got lucky w/ a front row seat. a few weeks ago i'd decided to not go because there were no seats left aside from the last couple of rows, and they'd not announced who would be playing bass/drums. on a whim i checked the website two days ago because i was curious to see if it was completely sold out (not a very big space) and found that someone must've returned some tix because a front row seat was available. and it'd been announced that matt penman and bill stewart were on the gig. i snatched up the ticket this is my personal favorite scofield configuration: the Sco-Lo Quartet. the records they made together under scofield's name back in the day are some of my all-time favorite recordings. too bad irwin isn't still here, but penman is an amazing musician. i checked scofield's website and the "quartet" only has a small handful of shows (3 or something). i'm very excited to be able to see it. it's been a long time since i've seen these guys play together live... Tom Storer
He's been announced as playing the New Morning in Paris on March 15, I think, but it doesn't show up on that list. Now I'm worried.
