AmirBagachelles Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Got it on my way home tonight. I was drawn to it by Lester Bowie and Cecil McBee, and there is not enough great Arthur Blythe on easily available CD, and so this is a treat. Great recording too. I see it can be had on amazon and half.com, you better hurry. It's fantastic. Quote
jeffcrom Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 I second this endorsement - I've always loved this album. My favorite track is "Midnite Train," an improvised piece. It's a little tentative at first, while the guys are finding their way into it, but it's incredibly exciting and cooking by the end. Quote
skeith Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Do you have "Out here like this" - my favorite from this group. Quote
Hot Ptah Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) The first cut on "Mudfoot" is really exciting--Arthur Blythe's "Miss Nancy." I was fortunate to see The Leaders live in a small club. I sat right in front of Lester Bowie. Great performance by all. Edited April 8, 2011 by Hot Ptah Quote
