Alex Pinto Quartet - Inner State

I recently received a promo that I have come to like a great deal once I started skipping the first track. It's called Inner State by a group of young guys called the Alex Pinto Quartet.

The band is tenor sax, guitar, bass and drums. Pinto is the guitarist, and composer of the album's seven songs. Although the melodies would be difficult to sing, they are there to be recognized.

The group is situated in San Francisco, but Pinto will appear with others of the same instruments at Twins Jazz in DC May 6 and 7.

I came across Alex Pinto's music this morning via some light research on "Indo-Jazz."

I generally do a google search site:organissimo.org whenever I come across someone new. 

Check out Parkside, a trio disc that is really fantastic. Choice guitar tones and a seemingly distinct taste. Lots to hear in his playing. He's certainly not just doing any one thing with his music.

Kind of funny that I would also suggest skipping the first track on Parkside as well...

A friend gave me Inner State a few years ago and I remember really liking it.  I'll have to listen to it again and check out Parkside.  Thanks for reminding me.
