Fer Urbina Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 This is a Roulette album by Sarah Vaughan, recorded in July 1962. It's been reissued on CD as a 2-in-1 on EMI. Does anyone have a copy of this? Are there any details regarding personnel and the studio it was recorded in? (Bruyninckx only gives the dates, Don Costa as arranger and conductor, and the matrix numbers.) Thanks! Quote
Jim R Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 Denis Brown's 1991 Vaughan discography also lists only "Don Costa Orchestra", NYC July 23/25/27, 1962; and the matrix numbers. The Mosaic discography offers the same info, and adds... "unknown string section, woodwinds and rhythm section". I sold my vinyl, or I would have had a look at the LP also (doubtful that it listed specific personnel, I would think). Quote

However, I am pretty sure there is no real info listed. Quote

jtaylor Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Does anyone know why New York session information, namely AFM recording contracts, are not available to researchers, through either local 802s archive or the main AFM archive? Quote
Fer Urbina Posted November 14, 2011 Author Report Posted November 14, 2011 Thanks, Marcello. I think that's exactly the info available on Bruyninckx. Does anyone know why New York session information, namely AFM recording contracts, are not available to researchers, through either local 802s archive or the main AFM archive? I'd like to know that too. F Quote
