alocispepraluger102 Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 (edited) the combination of barney kessel and oscar peterson is some of my favorite music. why did that trio last but a year? was it nothing more than the difficulty of accompanying the demanding pianist? i wish there were more recorded jewels of their collaboration. perhaps there are some of which i'm not aware. brownie Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 If I remember right, Barney Kessel wanted to stay on the West Coast instead of traveling all the time which was the case with Oscar Peterson. Barney Kessel is very, very high on my best guitarists list but I must say the trio with Herb Ellis is my favorite OP unit! Quote
