jazzbo Posted December 9, 2011 Report Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) I'm thinning out my collection of stereo equipment and for sale is my gently used NAD T585 "Universal Player" (DVD, DVD-A, HDCD, CD, and SACD). This unit presents a very nice up-scaled DVD image, and its real strength may be its great sound from DVD, CD and especially SACD (this unit does not down-convert DSD to PCM before conversion as many players do). There are a few nicks on the body of this unit but it looks darned nice. And works perfectly. I'm including a brand new Monoprice power cord with this unit as well. Here is the NAD product page: http://nadelectronics.com/products/dvd-players/T-585-Universal-DVD-Player Techradar review: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/audio-visual/dvd-players/nad-t585-287140/review I am asking $360 for this unit including shipping within the continental US. If interested, please contact lonjazz@yahoo.com I'm having a hard time posting an image. If you past this into a browser, or click the link, it should bring up an image: http://forums.allaboutjazz.com/picture.php?albumid=50&pictureid=600 Edited December 10, 2011 by jazzbo Quote

AmirBagachelles Posted December 11, 2011 Report Posted December 11, 2011 Great sounding unit, but its VERY slow to read discs, as in 30 seconds in many cases. Does your drawer fully extend in the open position such that you can insert and remove discs absolutely vertically? I have to slip the first 5/8" or so of every disc under the lip of the unit's face in order to lay them down on the tray. Thanks, Dan Quote
jazzbo Posted December 11, 2011 Author Report Posted December 11, 2011 Hmmm.. . I didn't have to do that with discs and the drawer. Yeah, it's slow to load, but the build quality is pretty good and the sound is very good. Still, I have a few other players that I prefer and it was just gathering dust on my shelf. I was able to sell it to someone here in Austin and hand it over and not have to mail it, which is nice for me. He's already called me to tell me how impressed he was with the SACD sound. Quote
