worldmusic
If you haven't listened to WKCR yet, go to the website: www.wkcr.org. I've been listening for many years, and I've learned so much about music. Besides the current broadcast, it has stuff like playlists, archives, and soundscape. Christiern
If you were listening to Phil Schaap, you undoubtedly also learned a lot of revisionist jazz history. Hope you keep a bowl of salt by the radio.
7/4
Been listening for at least 30 years, will continue to do so when I'm in the area. :eye:
paul secor
Like him, hate him, or feel somewhere between those two, WKCR wouldn't exist in it's present form were it not for Phil Schaap - it would have died out long ago. And the NYC jazz scene would be a lot poorer if it didn't exist. Edited January 11, 2012 by paul secor
AllenLowe
I made my first recording there with my little high school group; maybe 1969.
