A belated birthday celebration of drummer Peter Erskine's music tonight on Jazz From Blue Lake. 1971 graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy. We'll hear him in London in 1973 with Stan Kenton, playing "Birdland" with Maynard Ferguson, as well as with Weather Report and Steps Ahead. But wait, there's more! Inspired by this retrospective we will feature drummer/bandleaders all evening, 10 p.m. - 3 a.m. Yes, new music by Jack DeJohnette and Joe Chambers, and then a lot of drummer/leaders you may not expect from today.
