JSngry Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Streaming scanners are really cool. I never had the urge to buy one, but now that it's free, it's about the best source of distraction-blocking noise yet. Plus it actually gets interesting every once in a while, in which case, so much for distraction-blocking, but oh well about that. No such thing as a free lunch or a perfect world (as if there was a difference), right? Quote
alocispepraluger102 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Report Posted May 4, 2013 scanner manufacturers are rapidly going out of business because of encoding and the fact that many area can be heard streaming.. maybe one day a week something will interest me and i will click one on for a few hours. i listened to the boston chase and capture even after the boston police ordered them not to be streamed. JSngry Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 I feel like I'm in an Adam 12 episode only without Jack Webb's stories. That sounds like I'm mocking, but I'm not. It's really pretty cool. Quote
alocispepraluger102 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Report Posted May 4, 2013 SCANNER LISTENERS DESERVE MOCKING. MANY WALK AROUND WITH THE DAMN THINGS TO THEIR EAR AS IF THEY WERE ON DUTY.......................... Quote
JSngry Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 My stereotypical image from back in the day is of a middle-aged always semi-drunk lonely guy with insomnia, living in some rat hole with nothing better to do and no better way to do it. But that was before you could mutlitask with this stuff. Now, it's very often good to have noise, and there's an infinite number of ways to get it. Quote
