ghost of miles Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 AnythingGoes It's a standards album by the regular trio. Quote
ghost of miles Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 Heard one cut off this so far--a cover of Paul Simon's "Still Crazy After All These Years." Inspired choice, though they didn't do as much with it as I'd hoped they would. Quote
Chrome Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 So it's going to be (modern) pop standards? I was surprised when you mentioned "standards" in the first post ... didn't fit my preconceived notions of Mehdau music, although the idea really piqued my interest. I'm less piqued by the idea of him doing stuff like "Still crazy ...," especially after what you said about the cut. This isn't some kind of Norah Jonesification thing, is it? Quote
ghost of miles Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 Looks like it's mostly "standard" standards to me, with the exception of the Simon and the Radiohead song ("Everything In Its Right Place"): 1. Get Happy 2. Dreamsville 3. Anything Goes 4. Tres Palabras 5. Skippy 6. Nearness Of You, The 7. Still Crazy After All These Years 8. Everything In Its Right Place 9. Smile 10.
