alocispepraluger102 Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 the 2 young men who, in the late 1930s, conceived and developed the superman character, received $135 each for the rights and both died very poor. here is part of the story of big studios profiting handsomely(and continuing to do so) with the intellectual ideas of others. http://johnbatchelorshow.com/podcasts/2013/06/20/hotel-california Quote
Blue Train Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 Their story is pretty depressing. They or their estate has been in constant legal battles with Warner since about 1975. The first lawsuit resulted in them each getting a measly $20,000 a year for life. The 9th Appeals Court just heard arguments for the most recent one Siegel's estate late last year. Whatever it rules I expect an appeal to the Supreme Court. Quote
