BeBop Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Signs that the vinyl fad is playing out. Link Not to mention my other "favorite" fad: headphones. Edited November 6, 2013 by BeBop Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 shoppers will find a selection of LSTN Headphones, where for every pair sold, LSTN helps restore hearing to a person in need through the Starkey Hearing Foundation. LSTN Headphones are made from reclaimed, exotic woods sourced from furniture and flooring manufacturers, making each pair of headphones truly unique. Fuck me, it looks like a joke, but I'm sure it's not. MG Quote
Leeway Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 I recall that "back in the day" ( ) good headphones might go for $100, and really good headphones might go $200 or $300. Now I'm seeing headphones at audio shows routinely cresting the $1,000 mark. I'm not much of a headphone guy (except for limited uses), so maybe that is what they are going for, but it seems to me that thousand dollar headphones are jumping the shark, in the same way that selling vinyl next to the kale is, or even more so.
