The box is solid but the edge where the box hinged (a terrible design decision) was damaged when the black outer covering tore away from the edge of the box. The box no longer hinges, it works like a conventional box and the black outer covering was glued back onto the edge of the box. It's not unsightly, but it is visible upon examination.
