SATA/IDE Adapter Recommendations?

Howdy folks. I'm looking for some advice on an external, most likely hot-swappable, SATA/IDE to USB adapter. I have a stack of HDDs that I would like to retrieve data from. I'm hoping that in at least a few of their cases, it was an enclosure or power supply failure.

Just did an Amazon search for SATA/IDE to USB. They have many that are pretty cheap; why not give one a shot? Looks like you don't even need an enclosure anymore.

There are so many options, most of which have mixed reviews. I'm looking for reliability overall.
