Lazaro Vega Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 Tonight on Jazz From Blue Lake, please join Blue Lake Public Radio for the music of pianist/composer/educator Steve Talaga. “Contemplating the Heavens” is neither one style or another: it’s a 16 movement work based on four tonal centers that define variety through different rhythms and instrumental combinations. Steve’s music was commissioned by Linda Foster to accompany her 9 line poems found in the chapbook “Contemplating the Heavens.” And it is a major work by one of Grand Rapids premier musical minds utilizing some of the greatest players in the State today. Ready to go on an adventure? see www.adventuremusic.org Sunday you'll hear Linda Foster, Rob Smith, Tom Lockwood, Earlie Braggs, Keith Hall, Gary McCoury, Manna Shintani, McClane Watson, Chris Waechter, and Steve Talaga at the piano play live. Tonight, 10 p.m. - 3 a.m. you'll hear recordings by Steve and many others streaming live from www.bluelake.org/radio or via the Blue Lake Public Radio app for iPhone or Android. Quote
